ARE THE LEAKAGE RATES CORRECTED FOR DENSITY?
Yes! Provided the TA465-P or TA460-P is used, the leakage rate is corrected for density to standard conditions.
CAN I USE MY EXISTING INSTRUMENTS WITH THE PANDA?
All TA465-P or TA460-P units that shipped after 20 August 2009 include the Duct Leakage Application as standard, and can be used for the leakage measurement. If you have a TA460-P that shipped before 20 August 2009, it needs to be returned to TSI for a firmware upgrade. For the static pressure measurement, we recommend using a PVM610 or PVM620.
CAN THE PANDA BE USED OUTSIDE?
No, it should not be exposed to damp or wet conditions.
DOES THE PANDA COVER THE SAME OPERATING RANGES AS THE HVLT AND LVLT LEAKAGE TESTERS?
The PANDA was designed to cover or improve upon the pressure operating range covered by both the HVLT and the LVLT. The working flow range was designed to be suitable for the majority of applications. The PANDA cannot achieve the maximum flow from the LVLT and was never intended to do so as the extra size required to achieve this would be prohibitive with regards to transportation.
DOES THE PANDA OFFER BETTER CONTROL THAN THE PREVIOUS LEAKAGE TESTERS?
Yes! Again, using the latest inverter technology offers precise, stable control over its wide operating range.
IS THE PANDA EASILY TRANSPORTABLE?
Yes! The product was designed to fit into the back of most estate cars, some larger hatchbacks, and small vans.
IS THE PANDA QUIETER THAN THE PREVIOUS LEAKAGE TESTERS?
Yes! The product uses the latest inverter technology to offer quiet and efficient operation.
WHAT STANDARDS APPLY TO LEAKAGE TESTING AND THE PANDA?

WHAT SUPPLY VOLTAGE NEEDS TO BE SUPPLIED TO THE PANDA?
There are 2 versions of the PANDA – (1) 208-240v/1Ph/50-60hz and (2) 110-120v/1Ph/50-60hz.
WHY NEGATIVE PRESSURE TESTING?
The latest standards (see above) require that ducting be subjected to test pressures, both positive and negative, not lower than its design operating pressure.
